# Welcome

> What MightyBuilder is, who it is for, and the one idea that makes the rest of these pages make sense: you describe the site and the AI writes it.

MightyBuilder builds and edits websites by conversation. You describe the
business; the AI writes the pages, the wording, the styling and the search
metadata. There is no drag-and-drop editor and no template to pick.

## The one idea worth reading first

**Talking to the AI is how a page gets written.** Everything
else in the dashboard — creating a page, renaming it, moving it, deleting it,
changing a setting — is an ordinary screen with ordinary controls. But the words
and the layout of a page are written by asking for them. The one exception is
small: plain text can be retyped in the preview, for a typo you would rather
fix than describe.

That sounds like a limitation and is mostly the opposite. The AI can see the
whole site at once, so "make the headings smaller everywhere" is one sentence
rather than forty edits. It writes real markup and real CSS, which means the
result is a normal website rather than something locked inside a page builder.

## What you get

A site holds a few kinds of document, and they are the same thing underneath —
one set of drafts, one Publish.

- **Pages** have addresses and nest inside each other. Home, About, Services.
- **Collections** hold what arrives rather than what the site is made of: blog
articles, portfolio pieces, team members. Each item has a page of its own and
sits in a list. Every site starts with one for its blog.
- **Blocks** have no address. A block is a piece of a page you want to reuse —
a header, a set of opening hours — embedded wherever you need it.
- **Forms** are ordinary markup that collects submissions, kept in your
  dashboard and emailed to you.

Everything shared between pages lives in one place: the colours and fonts in
the **Theme**, the site-wide CSS in **Settings**, and a fact every page shows —
your phone number — in a block.
Everything about one page lives in that page.

## What it does not do

Said plainly, because finding out later is worse:

- **No shop, basket or checkout.** None is planned.
- **No logins, memberships or bookings.** No customer accounts, no gated pages.
- **No blog machinery.** Articles are real, and they have
  [tags](/dynamic/tags) and a [feed](/dynamic/your-feed) — but there are no
author pages and no paging through an archive.
A list of articles is a loop you can read, which is right for a few dozen and
  wrong for a daily publication.
- **No importer** for another platform. Give the AI your old site's address
and it reads the pages and rebuilds them here, bringing the pictures across,
  but nothing is migrated automatically.

It is built for a small business site: who you are, what you do, what it costs,
and how to get hold of you.

## What it costs

**Every site starts on the free plan**, and credits pay for the AI that
edits it. A free site lives on its MightyBuilder address, is indexed by search
engines, and carries a small MightyBuilder badge, within the free limits. You buy
credits when you want the AI to do something — there is no subscription.

A new account gets **150 credits** on its first site —
enough to build one and make a few changes. **Pro**, from $15 a
month, removes the badge and the limits, adds forms and your own domain, and
includes credits every month.
